Avinash Amin is a Principal at Siguler Guff and joined the Firm in 2009. Mr. Amin is a member of the Firm’s investment team and is responsible for overseeing fund selection and monitoring the investment portfolios. Prior to joining Siguler Guff, Mr. Amin was a Senior Vice President and Head of the Private Equity Group at Summit Strategies Group, an institutional investment advisor with over 70 clients and $150 billion in assets advised. At Summit, he managed private equity portfolios with over $1 billion in annual commitments and $3 billion in net asset value across buyout, venture capital and distressed strategies. Mr. Amin also managed Summit’s private equity advisory business and was responsible for strategy selection, manager due diligence, fund selection and reporting.
Previously, Mr. Amin was the Chief Clinical Officer at Novactyl, Inc., a venture-backed pharmaceutical company. At Novactyl, he led the development of the company’s early-stage pharmaceutical products, which involved conducting clinical trials and handling regulatory affairs. Mr. Amin also managed the firm’s intellectual property portfolio and invented several key patents. Prior to working at Novactyl, Mr. Amin co-founded TSVI, a global BPO company focused on the health care vertical with offices in the U.S. and India. He has also done consulting work for a number of health care venture capital firms, performing investment due diligence on their behalf.
Mr. Amin holds a B.A. and an M.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
