The position will be responsible for ensuring the successful and accurate completion of the accounting and administrative servicing requirements for various funds and products as a member of the fund accounting team. The individual will report to the Firm’s Controllers and Chief Financial Officer. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the monthly and quarterly accounting close process including preparation of income statements, balance sheets and statements of cash flows, and preparation of support schedules showing detailed investment activity, income and expense amounts
  • Preparing and reviewing trial balances
  • Managing and monitoring the timing and quality of client deliverables
  • Providing technical accounting/industry knowledge to clients
  • Coordinating with Siguler Guff’s operations, tax, investor relations, investment and legal teams
  • Working with auditors to provide information as requested
  • Reviewing private equity fund clients’ partnership agreements, private placement memorandums, and other materials
  • Completing ad-hoc and special projects as directed

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with 2+ years of experience in accounting required, preferably for a private equity firm (CPA designation a plus).

  • Knowledge of partnership accounting

  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP financial statements for alternative investments
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment

  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and client service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word

Hours: 8:45 AM to 5:30 PM

The position will be responsible for administrative support for one of the Firm’s departments, including calendaring, travel, phone coverage and other administrative tasks. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Covering phones and the daily schedules of team members
  • Booking all travel (international and domestic) for business trips and conferences
  • Preparing expense reports and reimbursement requests
  • Coordinating meetings and events
  • Copying, filing, faxing and other administrative tasks as needed
  • Preparing agendas and documents for meetings
  • Revising presentations and conducting research as needed
  • Assisting with covering the reception desk when the receptionist is away (if needed)
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of administrative experience required, preferably in the financial services industry.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
  • Extremely strong organizational skills as well as outstanding time management skills
